LionsBot creates autonomous cleaning robots currently deployed across over 30 countries, including malls, airports, offices, and factories. Every robot is driven by software, and this role focuses on developing that software. Our small, agile team values quick decisions without bureaucracy, working directly with hardware that you can physically interact with.

Role Overview and Challenges

The frontend work is highly visible and directly interacted with by end users, such as robot operators who rely on intuitive controls to manage robots without prior experience. Key challenges include handling robots operating in areas with intermittent Wi-Fi, managing live data streaming from thousands of robots across multiple countries and time zones, building touchscreen interfaces usable with gloves and in various languages, and creating consistent UI experiences across different hardware devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop user interfaces for controlling robots across web, mobile, onboard robot screens, and future platforms.
• Translate design mockups precisely into functional screens with pixel-perfect accuracy.
• Ensure live data feeds (via WebSockets) reflect the robot’s real-time state, handling dropped connections and offline scenarios gracefully.
• Optimize performance focusing on load times, transitions, and latency from robot events to UI updates.
• Create reusable components to reduce duplicate efforts.
• Implement frequent, small releases through automated build pipelines without long-lived branches.
• Collaborate closely with design and product teams, iterating through prototypes to final implementation.
• Maintain high code quality, improving the codebase's clarity and robustness through rigorous peer reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 5 years of experience building frontend applications, having taken projects through production deployment, release, and long-term support.
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript development.
• Familiarity with Flutter or Dart and other mobile frameworks is a strong advantage. Candidates strong in React willing to advance in mobile development will be supported.
• Strong skills in HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS, with comfort in working with APIs and real-time communication protocols such as WebSockets and WebRTC.
• Experience building user interfaces on top of live data streams from physical devices rather than static forms or tables.
• Adaptability to quickly learn new codebases, frameworks, and shifting priorities.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, timely work balancing speed and precision.
• Meticulous attention to detail, with a strong eye for pixel accuracy in UI.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience with robotics, IoT, or connected hardware systems including fleet management dashboards, telemetry, and device controls.
• Familiarity with mobile app release lifecycle including staged rollouts, app store review processes, hotfix deployment, and rollback procedures.
• Expertise in embedded or kiosk-style UI design optimized for touchscreens, challenging hardware constraints, glove usage, and difficult lighting.
• Knowledge of internationalization and multi-language UI support for diverse markets.
• Experience with geospatial and map-based UIs, supporting robot navigation on physical floors.
• History of ownership of design systems or component libraries in previous roles.
• Strong front-end testing and CI/CD discipline including component testing, visual regression, and maintaining performance budgets.
• Understanding of robotics communication protocols and platforms such as ROS, OpenRMF, MQTT.
