Senior Software Engineer - Backend

About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer is accountable for the design, development, testing, and upkeep of scalable backend applications and integration solutions. This role demands advanced technical skills, leadership in solution architecture, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software that enhances digital experiences.

• Create, test, and maintain applications and integration platforms.
• Rapidly diagnose and fix technical problems, ensuring system reliability, including participation in out-of-hours support when needed.
• Implement best practices concerning API design, coding standards, security, and system performance.
• Work collaboratively with project teams from initial concepts through final delivery to ensure business and technical requirements are met.
• Offer mentorship and technical support to junior developers and colleagues.
• Document the software development lifecycle clearly to promote transparency and shared knowledge.
• Adapt solutions in line with design requirements and evolving business demands.
• Identify ongoing issues and lead initiatives for continuous system improvements to boost performance and reliability.
• Maintain and improve support workflows to ensure system resilience and reduce downtime.
• Support release and deployment efforts, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.
• Adopt automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration practices to ensure high-quality code.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in backend and API development.
• Proficient with server-side programming, especially Java and Spring Boot.
• Experienced in designing and maintaining integrations across various applications and APIs.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployment automation.
• Strong understanding of database schema design, transaction handling, and query optimization.
