As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on backend development, you will collaborate closely with fellow backend engineers, QA, design teams, and Tech Team Leads. You will play a critical role in evolving the technology stack, ensuring scalability and robustness while meeting the demands of massive user bases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop a comprehensive understanding of the dubizzle codebase and tech stack.
• Lead planning for new features, including detailed release and rollback strategies.
• Continuously research and integrate current industry best practices into your daily tasks.
• Create unit tests aligned with company standards to verify code quality.
• Produce and maintain exemplary code adhering to dubizzle's engineering practices.
• Engage in troubleshooting and maintenance following product releases.
• Develop effective solutions to complex problems with meaningful impact.
• Drive improvements in code reliability and system efficiency.
• Influence the technical direction and future scope of projects within your team stream.
• Mentor peers through pair programming and guide tasks regardless of complexity.
• Review crucial pull requests, set coding standards, and offer constructive feedback.
• Design and implement multiple RESTful APIs and utilize a Service Oriented Architecture approach.
• Critically assess and challenge incomplete requirements.
• Manage the entire software development life cycle end-to-end.
• Lead technical product planning and solution architecture efforts within your group.
• Coordinate with QA, design, and tech leads to ensure cohesive product delivery.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to share advancements and innovations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
• Over 6 years of professional experience in backend development using Python with Django framework.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted infrastructures, particularly AWS.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker is an advantage.
• Proven background working on high-traffic and large-scale web applications.
• Knowledge of web infrastructure, SOA, distributed systems, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in design patterns, asynchronous programming, logging, security, and data persistence.
• Proficient with caching mechanisms like memcached and their strategies.
• Solid understanding of build and continuous integration processes.
• Strong command of testing techniques including unit, component, and integration testing.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and prioritization skills allowing adaptation in dynamic environments.
• Self-motivated to explore and understand emerging as well as established technologies.
• Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and keen attention to detail.
