About Crimson Global Academy

Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is a premier online school offering live, interactive learning experiences to motivated students worldwide. Serving over 1000 students across 65 nations, CGA aims to unlock its learners' boundless potential for extraordinary futures.

Role Overview

Our engineering team designs and develops the critical systems powering a global virtual school, including the student and parent applications, backend infrastructure (known as CGA Home), internal tools for sales and marketing, operational systems, and the public-facing website.

Engineers work closely with the product, users, and observable outcomes. We're seeking an experienced senior engineer passionate about crafting impactful software that enhances children's education, and eager to elevate the quality and delivery speed of our software products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CGA’s cloud-based products, backend systems, infrastructure, and occasional frontend tasks.
  • Own complex technical challenges end-to-end, from initial design to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Employ test-driven development practices ensuring high-quality and stable releases.
  • Influence architectural decisions and guide CGA’s technical strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and stakeholders, providing honest time estimates, transparent communication, and reliable delivery.
  • Enhance CI/CD, testing, and deployment procedures to achieve faster and safer software shipping.
  • Monitor product performance and promptly address operational issues.
  • Mentor teammates, elevate engineering standards, and promote a high-quality culture team-wide.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional software engineering experience.
  • Extensive full-stack development experience with a strong focus on backend and infrastructure at a senior level.
  • Proficient or near-fluent with technologies including HTML5/CSS, React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS, and Terraform.
  • Proven ability to deliver software products within robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, transparency in commitments, and a collaborative, team-centric approach.
  • Motivation to progressively assume technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Alignment with CGA’s core values: unlocking potential together, continuous innovation, and consistently raising the bar for collective impact.

Preferred Experience

  • Background building educational or consumer-oriented products catering to a global audience.
  • Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Familiarity managing production systems operating across multiple regions and time zones.
