Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take full ownership of a feature area within our Product Engineering team. This role involves leading the technical design, collaborating closely with product managers and designers, mentoring fellow engineers, and ensuring successful deployment of features with high reliability and scalability. You'll be joining one of our growing squad teams, each typically comprising a product manager, designer, technical lead, and engineers.

Technical Environment

Our technology stack includes React and TypeScript on the frontend, Go-based backend services, and Postgres as the primary database. Deployments run on Kubernetes through the Google Cloud Platform. Engineers use AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor and work extensively with LLM-backed components as part of the product.

Key Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end responsibility for a feature area from initial design discussions through to production and ongoing support.
• Lead architectural and technical decisions within your domain.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to define feasible solutions, prioritize features, and estimate resource requirements.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers to enhance team output and code quality.
• Enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Develop deep domain expertise in cybersecurity to guide product development.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience at technology-focused, product-oriented companies.
• Proficient in TypeScript and React for frontend development.
• Experienced in backend programming with Go or a comparable language.
• Strong skills with relational databases, preferably Postgres.
• Comfortable using AI-driven coding tools as a primary development aid, exercising critical judgment over generated code.
• Ability to make pragmatic trade-offs balancing technical excellence with business priorities.
• A collaborative attitude prioritizing product and customer impact over individual code ownership.
• Proven track record leading technical designs and delivering features to production.
• Experienced mentor who improves code quality and engineering decisions within teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in cybersecurity.
• Experience operating Kubernetes-based services, especially on Google Cloud Platform.
• History of architecting complex systems or applications with cross-functional teams from inception.
• Hands-on ownership of live services including on-call duties, observability, and issue prioritization.
