Our team partners with Walmart International, which operates more than 5,900 retail outlets across 26 countries under 55 different banners worldwide, including locations in Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of coding, unit testing, and constructing high-performance and scalable software solutions serving millions of Walmart International customers. Your work will primarily support supply chain management and enhance customer experience domains.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an intellectually curious engineer passionate about both technology and domain expertise. Candidates should have extensive knowledge and experience in Java and J2EE technologies, along with skills in API development and software design.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Develop, test, and deliver scalable applications using Java and related technologies.
• Design and implement RESTful web services to support business requirements.
• Apply design patterns to build robust and maintainable software architectures.
• Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Leverage knowledge of data structures and algorithms to optimize application performance.
• Work with both SQL (Oracle) and NoSQL (Cosmos) databases effectively.
• Utilize Apache Kafka for reliable messaging and data streaming solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build and deployment processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, computer information systems, or a related discipline plus a minimum of 3 years' experience in software engineering or a related field.
• Alternatively, 5 years of relevant professional experience without the formal degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a similar area along with at least 1 year leading cybersecurity or information security projects.
• Experience in developing inclusive digital products adhering to WCAG 2.2 AA standards and knowledge of assistive technologies.
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices to support Walmart’s inclusive culture.
• CISCO certification in Information Technology is an advantage.
