About the Role
Are you passionate about advancing software solutions and processing meteorological data? As a C++ expert with a strong grasp of software architecture and an interest in science-driven algorithms, you will contribute to creating robust, high-performance software on Linux platforms that efficiently manage large data volumes. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams of meteorologists and developers to design modern systems for weather data analysis and visualization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and architect performant C++ applications for meteorological data analysis and visualization.
- Advance backend systems and data processing pipelines, from severe weather warnings to model interpretation.
- Engage in interdisciplinary teamwork and support product evolution.
Requirements
- Completed studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong software engineering skills with hands-on experience in object-oriented C++ development, preferably using C++17 or later.
- Deep understanding of complex data structures and handling large datasets, ideally meteorological measurement data.
- Analytical mindset and organized approach to work.
- Initial experience with project management and collaboration across disciplines.
Technical Environment
- Operating system: Ubuntu Linux using a custom build system.
- Programming languages: C++, Python, Bash.
- Libraries and frameworks: OpenMP, STL, Docker, ELK Stack, among others.
