Job description
Job Overview
Google's Security team strives to maintain the most secure operating environments for users and developers. As a Senior Security Engineer in the Security Research division, you will analyze network systems, monitor for potential threats, collaborate with software engineers to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities, and contribute to advancing the security field. This role is part of Project Zero, an independent security research team within Google focused on identifying zero-day exploits and driving robust defensive improvements across the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out in-depth vulnerability research and develop exploits, focusing on platforms such as iOS, MacOS, and XNU kernel.
- Design and develop tools and platforms to enhance and scale the team’s research efficiency.
- Publish research findings to engage and inform the broader security community.
- Collaborate with fellow security engineers to analyze and respond effectively to vulnerabilities reported by external parties.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in reverse engineering methodologies.
- Proficiency in vulnerability identification and exploit development.
- Strong skills in technical documentation and writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven record of published security research contributions.
- Deep expertise in one or more areas of vulnerability research and security analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to support teamwork and collaboration.
Additional Information
Applicants can select their preferred work setting from the following:
- Office-based work in Munich, Germany.
- Fully remote work within Germany.
Compensation details for the Germany location include a salary range of €128,000 to €131,000 annually, along with a 15% performance bonus target, equity, and additional benefits.
