About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to join a leading client in the financial services sector. Reporting directly to the CISO, this global-facing role involves leading the creation and integration of robust security architecture practices across enterprise-wide technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and define a comprehensive security architecture function including its operating model, governance, and strategic direction.
- Integrate security principles into the software development lifecycle to foster a security-first mindset among engineering teams.
- Design and improve secure infrastructure frameworks applicable to both cloud and on-premise environments.
- Develop, enforce, and maintain security policies, standards, and reference architectures that comply with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align security controls with business goals and compliance mandates.
- Provide architectural guidance and oversight for security solutions to ensure they are scalable, well-integrated, and resilient.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on security architecture concerns and emerging threat trends.
- Lead ongoing enhancement of security capabilities by incorporating modern methodologies such as Zero Trust.
Experience and Skills
- At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with extensive exposure to security architecture.
- Proven ability to establish or mature security architecture functions within complex organizational environments.
- Strong expertise in enterprise infrastructure, including cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
- Experience working in regulated environments, preferably within financial services.
- Demonstrated capability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across diverse technical areas.
- Familiarity with recognized security frameworks and standards such as NIST or equivalents.
- Experience implementing Zero Trust models is advantageous.
- Understanding of emerging risks, including artificial intelligence security concerns.
- Knowledge of secure software development and DevSecOps practices.
- Exposure to business continuity planning and resilience strategies.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, or TOGAF considered a plus.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
- Industry-recognized security or architecture certifications are highly preferred.
