Overview
An established client based in Dublin seeks a seasoned ERP Director to pioneer and lead an Enterprise Applications Centre of Excellence (CoE) centered on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). This senior leadership position entails full ownership of the platform, including setting up teams, defining governance, and developing processes and standards to manage D365 and the broader Microsoft environment beyond the initial implementation phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and develop the Enterprise Applications CoE, including building operating models, governance frameworks, organizational structure, processes, standards, and collaborative methods.
- Steer strategic oversight and management of D365 F&O along with the extended Microsoft technology stack such as Power Platform, Power BI, Dataverse, Azure, and Copilot.
- Implement and maintain D365 governance and design authority across solution architecture, configuration, integrations, data security, customizations, and release management.
- Lead comprehensive business process design and standardization efforts to ensure scalable and efficient solutions that meet company needs.
- Recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing, multidisciplinary Enterprise Applications team.
- Forge strong relationships with senior leaders across business, finance, operations, and technology functions to influence key decisions and provide critical challenge to requirements.
- Own the D365 product roadmap and continuous improvement plans while balancing strategic priorities, business demands, technical debt, and platform health.
- Champion adoption, organizational change, and the realization of measurable business benefits from D365 deployment.
- Oversee data governance policies, master data management, systems integrations, reporting standards, and platform consistency.
- Manage Microsoft's D365 release cycles and identify growth opportunities within Power Platform, automation, AI-powered Copilot tools, and analytics.
- Oversee strategic partnerships with Microsoft, systems integrators, and managed service providers.
- Lead transition efforts from ERP project delivery towards sustainable business-as-usual platform management and continuous enhancement.
Experience & Skills Required
- Extensive senior leadership experience in Enterprise Applications, ERP systems, or technology transformation initiatives.
- Deep and proven expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of related Microsoft technologies including Power Platform, Power BI, Dataverse, Azure, and Azure DevOps.
- Demonstrated track record in establishing and managing a Dynamics 365 or Enterprise Applications Centre of Excellence from inception.
- Strong skills in business process design, solution architecture, and process optimization.
- Experience in setting up D365 governance models, design authorities, platform standards, and operational procedures.
- Expertise in D365 Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), integration capabilities, data management, reporting frameworks, and release processes.
- Proven ability to drive user adoption, foster continuous improvement, and maximize value post-ERP implementation.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and influence skills at senior leadership levels.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in building and nurturing multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience handling relationships with Microsoft, implementation partners, and managed service providers effectively.
