Senior Quality Engineer

Overview

Join Everbridge's Engineering team as a Senior Quality Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence, dependability, and customer satisfaction of advanced SaaS product experiences featuring AI-driven workflows. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modular, reusable tests and validation methods across multiple layers including UI, API, integrations, and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing tasks throughout the agile development lifecycle to thoroughly validate new functionalities.
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and UX professionals to establish acceptance criteria, devise testing strategies, and uncover edge cases early in development.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites covering APIs and user interfaces, enhancing coverage and minimizing regression risks.
• Support and enhance testing environment frameworks and tooling to boost test efficiency and reliability.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools, including coding agents and AI-driven test generation, to speed up test creation, increase coverage, facilitate debugging, and accelerate feedback cycles.
• Critically assess AI-created or assisted test artifacts to ensure they validate business logic, system behaviors, edge scenarios, and failure pathways, not just basic tech outputs.
• Communicate test outcomes effectively, escalate potential risks, and advocate continuous quality and delivery process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience testing scalable, enterprise-level distributed applications and services.
• Keen understanding of automation frameworks and tools such as Pytest, Selenium, or Playwright; flexibility in tool choice based on problem suitability.
• Experience using version control tools like GitHub or GitLab.
• Familiarity or experience with AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, or AI-based test automation is advantageous.
• Exposure to testing technologies involving large language models, AI/ML, agentic workflows, recommendation systems, or decision-support automation is a plus.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with an ability to quickly absorb new technologies and tools.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, identify gaps, validate assumptions, and properly test edge cases to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Experience working in Agile development settings.
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps frameworks is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
