Based in Adelaide, as a Senior Project Manager or Manager within the Program Performance team, you will spearhead the delivery of complex infrastructure and capital works projects, primarily servicing Defence and government sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure and capital works projects or major workstreams through planning, design, procurement, construction, and handover phases.
- Manage all aspects of project scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk, quality assurance, governance, and reporting processes to ensure successful client outcomes.
- Serve as a pivotal liaison among clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering proactive issue resolution and strong cooperative relationships.
- Provide project management and contract administration support tailored to specific project requirements.
- Develop and implement project management plans, procurement strategies, risk management registers, design controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Regularly monitor project metrics, offering clear insights on progress, risks, opportunities, and delivery challenges.
- Organize and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder forums to encourage consensus, decision-making, and prompt action.
- Participate in commercial project management duties including forecasting, budget oversight, handling variations and claims, managing change, and general contract administration.
- Mentor and lead junior personnel to enhance team capability and maintain high standards of project delivery.
- Support business development initiatives, maintain strong client relationships, and identify opportunities for future engagements.
Candidate Profile / Requirements
- Proven experience in project management, contract administration, client advisory, or construction delivery within infrastructure, building, or capital works sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing projects or significant workstreams, balancing delivery, stakeholder engagement, commercial considerations, and reporting obligations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, effective in collaborating with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Hands-on experience with project controls, including scope, scheduling, cost management, risk assessment, procurement, governance, and reporting.
- Sound commercial acumen with aptitude for identifying and mitigating risks, issues, and potential opportunities in project delivery.
- Collaborative leadership approach with enthusiasm for mentoring and enhancing junior team members’ performance.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, construction management, engineering, or associated fields.
- Australian citizenship with eligibility for security clearance as determined by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing Defence, government, or other complex infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Defence Capital Facilities and Infrastructure Branch project frameworks and associated Defence contracts.
- Knowledgeable in contract administration principals, procurement processes, and construction delivery methodologies.
