About the Role
Join Aurecon as a Lead Electrical Engineer within the Energy team based in Brisbane, contributing to pioneering electrical solutions fundamental to critical infrastructure and Australia’s sustainable energy transition. You will be instrumental in analyzing and designing large medium-voltage embedded power networks serving sectors including defence, airports, hospitals, mining, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical efforts in power systems analysis, protection systems, substation engineering, and electrical network design.
- Collaborate with clients to comprehend their needs and craft practical, forward-looking electrical solutions.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams to manage the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
- Participate in business development by creating winning proposals and fostering strong client partnerships.
- Provide mentorship and professional development guidance to engineers, fostering a supportive and effective team environment.
- Champion continuous innovation and engineering best practices across all projects.
- Advance your leadership journey with a clear pathway toward team leadership and management responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- Over 10 years of experience specializing in electrical power systems analysis and design.
- Proven expertise delivering medium-voltage electrical network projects in sectors such as energy, mining, defence, airports, healthcare, utilities, or industrial facilities.
- Technical proficiency in power system studies, substation (primary and secondary) design, protection schemes, and network configuration.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full project lifecycle from initial feasibility, concept design, detailed engineering, tendering processes, commissioning to construction support.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across diverse multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
