Job description
Role Overview
We seek a seasoned Senior Project Controller to join our Hawke's Bay team, stationed at our Napier office. This vital position involves driving excellence in complex civil projects by providing clear insights into costs, schedules, reporting, and risk factors.
You will closely collaborate with project teams and leaders to ensure projects remain on schedule, identify emerging issues promptly, and facilitate informed decision-making to prevent minor challenges from escalating.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting for civil engineering projects.
- Assist with cost management activities including controlling expenses, earned value measurement, cashflow projections, and evaluating cost-to-complete metrics.
- Administer change management processes such as controlling changes, analyzing trends, managing scope adjustments, processing variations, and completing project closeout procedures.
- Participate in risk oversight by conducting delay assessments and developing mitigation strategies to safeguard successful project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to enhance systems, improve reporting accuracy, and boost project control capabilities.
Experience and Skills Required
- A minimum of 12 to 15 years in project controls within civil engineering sectors.
- Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability in forecasting, productivity evaluation, earned value reporting, and commercial control functions.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a talent for establishing robust relationships across multiple teams.
- Proficiency with project control systems, especially spreadsheet applications and relevant software; ability to quickly adapt to new platforms.
Technical Proficiencies
- Experienced user of CCS software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Projects.
- Strong capability in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
