Role Overview

The Preconstruction Manager role is critical within the organisation, responsible for managing projects from initial concept to the start of construction. Acting as a key liaison among clients, consultants, commercial teams, and delivery staff, the role influences project strategies, supports new business acquisition, and ensures meticulous pre-construction planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and pre-construction processes.
• Manage tender submissions and cost planning activities.
• Develop construction methodologies and facilitate stakeholder workshops.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and support project mobilisation.
• Provide strategic guidance throughout project execution to address challenges and optimize results.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of eight years' experience in pre-construction, project management, estimating, or commercial construction leadership.
• Demonstrated success in delivering negotiated contracts, ECI engagements, and competitive tenders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, procurement approaches, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
• Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong skills in stakeholder communication and client relationship management.
• Commercial awareness with the capability to influence project outcomes effectively.
• Relevant tertiary qualification such as Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar discipline.
