Senior Principal Software Engineer

About the Role

The Senior Principal Software Engineer position (Grade T5) is based in Bangalore or Noida and requires 12-16 years of experience. The role involves supporting R&D in addressing customer problems through problem analysis, debugging, and developing new features aimed at enhancing synthesis results focused on timing, area, and power efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide research and development assistance to application and product engineers for customer issues and feature requests.
• Analyze and debug software problems, fixing bugs or developing new enhancements.
• Improve synthesis outcomes with attention to timing, area optimization, and power consumption.
• Engage in intellectually challenging problem-solving within an innovative research-driven environment.
• Receive mentoring to contribute effectively to complex EDA (Electronic Design Automation) problems and elevate programming skills to professional software engineering standards.

Educational and Skills Requirements

• Degree in BE/BTech/ME/MTech specializing in Computer Science or related fields.
• Proficient hands-on experience in RTL coding.
• Capable of writing, maintaining, and optimizing register-transfer level code adhering to System Design Guide standards using VHDL or Verilog.
• Experience conducting functional simulation using Xcelium, performing static timing analysis, and running design-for-test validations to detect bugs.
• Ability to validate, test, and investigate simulator accuracy and performance concerns.
• Familiarity with Design-For-Test (DFT) methodologies and/or Memory-Built-In Self-Test (MBIST) technology is advantageous.
