Senior Platform Engineer – AWS Focus

Role Overview

We seek a Senior Platform Engineer with a strong background in AWS to design, develop, and continuously enhance enterprise-wide cloud and hybrid cloud platforms. This position concentrates on building secure, reusable cloud-native solutions that empower AI teams to efficiently develop, test, and operate AI applications on AWS without duplicating infrastructure or operational controls. A significant focus is placed on AI service operationalization, security, and cloud cost management following FinOps principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Create reusable AWS AI platform services, products, tenancy models, and contractual frameworks.
• Architect and deploy production-grade AWS environments utilizing a landing zone methodology.
• Manage, scale, and deploy AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Rekognition, Textract, and Lookout.
• Standardize infrastructure deployments using Terraform, including building version-controlled Terraform modules, platform APIs, SDKs, and implementing automated validation and release processes.
• Design and implement runtime patterns leveraging EKS, Lambda, containers, EventBridge, queues, streams, and workflow management services.
• Enforce security best practices such as least-privilege IAM, workload identity, secrets management, encryption, and private VPC networking.
• Automate security controls, compliance evidence gathering, and policy enforcement integrated within delivery pipelines.
• Design secure inter-service and cross-account access architectures.
• Handle API lifecycle management using AWS API Gateway and Kong API Gateway.
• Devise automated GitHub workflows for continuous integration and deployment of infrastructure and applications.
• Develop self-service onboarding resources including templates, documentation, reference implementations, and engineered "paved road" solutions.
• Conduct cloud SKU cost analysis and implement monitoring and alerting systems to mitigate budget overruns.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of five years working extensively within the AWS environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• In-depth knowledge of core AWS AI/ML services including Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Rekognition, Textract, and Lookout.
• Expertise with AWS container orchestration and serverless services such as EKS and Lambda.
• Experience working with AWS event-driven architecture components including EventBridge, queues, streams, and workflow services.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience managing IAM policies, VPC design (including subnetting, Route 53, Direct Connect), and CloudWatch monitoring.
• Practical knowledge with API management tools such as AWS API Gateway and Kong.
• Solid cloud and solution architecture skills with proven ability to architect scalable and secure cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
