Project Overview
The Expo 2030 Riyadh project offers a global collaborative platform themed "Foresight for Tomorrow," focusing on sustainability and innovation. The event, scheduled from October 2030 to March 2031, anticipates over 40 million visitors. Bechtel will oversee the infrastructure program that encompasses early works, utilities, and public spaces across a 6 km² site, preparing it for a mixed-use legacy development post-event. The masterplan emphasizes adherence to international sustainability standards for urban forestry, water treatment, and energy sources.
Role Synopsis
The Senior Planner will collaborate with the project team to prepare, implement, and maintain scheduling data for proposals and contractual agreements. This position supports schedule creation, monitoring, analysis, and the development of recovery strategies to optimize critical project timelines and meet defined goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling schedule information for proposals or contracts.
- Develop and maintain schedules for designated discipline areas or specialties.
- Create work breakdown structures and define activity durations and logical sequences for scheduling.
- Monitor schedules to identify critical path activities and update relevant functions.
- Help maintain reports on critical path schedules and performance metrics.
- Analyze scheduling challenges to determine activity criticality and assist in recovery planning.
- Review and assess contractor baseline schedules against project requirements including milestones and resource allocation.
- Prepare consolidated feedback on schedule corrections and approvals.
- Evaluate contractor schedule updates for progress and forecast accuracy, offering timely feedback and recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related fields; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
- Approximately 12 years of planning and scheduling experience on major infrastructure, utilities, industrial, or capital projects, including significant involvement in pre-commissioning, commissioning, completions, and handover processes.
- Experience within PMO, PMC, EPCM, or large-scale project delivery environments, preferably within Saudi Arabia or the Middle East region.
- Proven capability with integrating multi-contractor schedules and managing complex interface completions is highly advantageous.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated expertise in planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
- Ability to establish project planning and scheduling criteria effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience presenting scheduling data to management and clients.
- Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and resolving scheduling issues.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technical advancements.
Additional Information
Relocation for this role is authorized on an international, single transfer basis. The telework arrangement is fully office or project-based, located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
