Project Overview

The Expo 2030 Riyadh, a global collaboration platform themed “Foresight for Tomorrow,” promotes sustainability, innovation, and transformative thinking. Set from October 2030 to March 2031, the event expects over 40 million visits. The masterplan covers 6 km², featuring 491,100 m² GFA exhibition space for 197 countries and 29 organizations. Bechtel will manage infrastructure programs including early works, utilities, and public spaces that will transition into a mixed-use legacy community after the event, adhering to international sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct detailed civil/structural engineering tasks for a multidisciplinary project including reviewing designs, layouts, drawings, and specifications.
• Lead the design, development, and modification of civil/structural components using established procedures, standards, and Bechtel design tools.
• Collaborate closely with multiple engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure cohesive engineering efforts.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to select and adapt structural engineering methods, techniques, and criteria.
• Review structural engineering deliverables such as steel and concrete calculations and specifications.
• Analyze conflicts in design requirements and propose viable solutions through designs and sketches.
• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
• Support the creation of conceptual studies, design reports, and proposals related to civil and structural engineering aspects.
• Facilitate coordination among specialty groups, vendors, contractors, construction teams, and customers.
• Provide technical guidance and collaborate with project and construction management to meet civil/structural engineering requirements during execution.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or internationally equivalent qualification.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in relevant civil/structural engineering roles.
• Proven track record in delivering substantial urban infrastructure or large civil engineering projects including public realm works.
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, or GCC countries is essential.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic language proficiency is advantageous.

Additional Information
