Key Responsibilities
- Lead and prepare detailed environmental assessments and planning approval applications for diverse multidisciplinary projects.
- Manage routine projects by coordinating with stakeholders to deliver excellent client results, including project management duties such as financial and budget oversight.
- Collaborate nationally with other planners, support less experienced colleagues through mentoring, and contribute to professional development.
- Identify and participate in business development efforts, preparing proposals and engaging clients.
- Advance your professional growth through mentoring, training, and active involvement in technical communities and professional bodies.
- Engage in community and stakeholder engagement strategies, with opportunities to leverage current skills or develop new expertise in consultation.

Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of experience in environmental planning.
- Full membership or progress towards membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
- Proven track record in technical planning within regional or local councils or private sector, including infrastructure project consents.
- Experience managing projects, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Demonstrated client management and business development skills.
- Experience in community and stakeholder engagement is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, decisive problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and energetic work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate with various technical disciplines and provide integrated solutions on multidisciplinary projects.
