Role Overview

The Senior PCB Layout Engineer is responsible for independently creating and modifying PCB designs and detailed CAD drawings with a focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Assembly (DFA), and Test (DFT) criteria. This role involves working autonomously and collaborating closely with RF Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Test Development Engineers to develop designs from initial concept through to manufacturing and production stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive PCB designs using Altium software including schematic capture and complex High-Density Interconnect (HDI) PCB layouts, covering all phases from concept to fabrication, assembly, and production.
• Lead and facilitate design reviews to verify the correctness and compliance of schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts, while handling engineering changes and ensuring traceability of design modifications.
• Collaborate extensively with hardware, mechanical, procurement, and production teams to optimize product function, signal and power integrity, and ensure adherence to design-for-manufacturing standards.
• Develop complete design documentation such as fabrication and assembly drawings, Gerber files, BOMs, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring timely delivery and smooth manufacturing handoff.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications, with a minimum of 6 years' relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools, primarily Altium, as well as experience with Allegro for multi-site schematic entry and multi-layer HDI boards, especially ATE multisite load boards and probe cards.
• Advanced expertise in high-density PCB layout for fine pitch BGA packages (as small as 0.4mm) and RF high-frequency design.
• Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently, effectively manage timelines, and consistently deliver high-quality work under tight schedules.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborative design reviews and vendor engagements.
• Deep knowledge of Design for Excellence (DFx) techniques including DFM, DFA, DFT, and DFR along with PCB manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Signal Integrity Analysis using Altium and Power Analysis tools such as Keysight Power Analyzer is highly desirable.
