Job description
Job Overview
This position involves conducting neurophysiology diagnostic procedures for both adult and pediatric patients referred from outpatient clinics, inpatient departments, and external physicians, within the guidelines established by the employer.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform short routine electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings.
- Conduct long-term video EEG monitoring sessions.
- Carry out bedside EEG recordings.
- Administer Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) tests.
- Perform evoked potential tests including visual and somatosensory modalities.
- Support neurologists in executing electromyography (EMG), advanced nerve conduction velocity tests, and visual evoked potentials (VEP).
- Complete and submit detailed reports for each patient procedure.
- Manage appointment scheduling for polysomnography (PSG), positive airway pressure (PAP) titration, EEG, EMG-NCV, and VEP testing.
- Ensure routine maintenance, equipment care, and inventory checks in collaboration with biomedical engineering personnel.
- Report safety and operational issues to the chairperson of neurosciences promptly.
- Provide education to patients and their families on health status, treatments, and preventive care as appropriate.
- Execute all tasks professionally and within designated timelines.

- Complete mandatory educational requirements in a timely manner, at least one month before expiry.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and a minimum typing speed of 20 words per minute.
- Licensed to practice as per relevant regional health regulatory authorities (e.g., SCFHS or DHA).
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Neurophysiology Technician, EEG/NCV/EP technician with proven skills and competencies.
For less senior roles, a minimum of 3 years is required.
Education
- Completion of neurophysiology procedures training, either within a hospital setting or through a recognized accredited facility prior to employment.
