Role Overview
We seek a Senior Android Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of sophisticated mobile applications serving millions of users managing their home networks. This role involves active ownership of complex features, technical leadership, and collaboration across mobile, cloud, and embedded system teams, leveraging AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, and review workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable, high-performance Android application features.
- Drive initiatives from concept through deployment, coordinating with cloud and embedded engineers.
- Maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and UI test coverage alongside manual quality assurance.
- Shape application architecture and contribute to key technical decisions.
- Uphold engineering best practices including code reviews, continuous integration/delivery, and secure software release.
- Integrate AI-driven development tools across the software lifecycle.
- Mentor engineering team members and promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience developing Android apps using Kotlin and Java.
- Deep understanding of Android OS architecture, platform services, and system integrations.
- Proven ability to design scalable, reusable, and testable application components.
- Strong familiarity with Material Design guidelines and contemporary Android UI development.
- Experience working across mobile, cloud, and embedded platforms.
- Expertise building clients for APIs and microservices.
- Practical usage of AI-assisted code generation, testing, and review tools.
- Proficiency with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as GitHub Actions and Fastlane.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
- Track record of mentoring and providing technical leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) development.
- Knowledge of IoT systems involving Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or networking hardware.
- Familiarity with subscription models, in-app purchases, and billing integrations.
