Role Summary

As a key member of the Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence across Australia, you will exercise leadership and relationship skills alongside delivering technical solutions to clients. The Senior Microsoft 365 Specialist acts as the principal technical escalation resource, ensuring exceptional service for users of modern workplace technologies. This role emphasizes driving Microsoft 365 adoption and continuous enhancement across data, communication, collaboration, security, and identity management services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical escalation contact for Microsoft 365 within the Centre of Excellence.
- Guide both internal teams and customers to optimize adoption and ongoing improvement of Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Deliver enablement and productivity benefits across Microsoft 365 workloads encompassing data handling, file management, communications, collaboration, security, and identity & access management.
- Maintain expertise in Microsoft identity platforms including Azure AD, AD Connect, ADFS, and Microsoft Identity Manager.
- Manage modern business collaboration tools such as Teams, Planner, Groups, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Yammer.
- Support collaboration and video conferencing systems including Teams and peripheral technologies like Poly, Cisco, and Zoom.
- Possess familiarity with competing IT platform solutions.
- Oversee email security and archiving platforms such as Office 365 ATP/EOP, Mimecast, and Avepoint.
Candidate Profile
Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet security clearance requirements.
The ideal candidate has prior experience within an ICT professional services environment and a strong hands-on background as a Microsoft 365 Engineer. Demonstrable expertise includes:
- Deep knowledge of core Office 365 collaboration services: Exchange Online mailbox and protection management, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
- Comprehensive understanding of Azure AD identity management and associated entities: user accounts, traditional security and distribution groups, Office 365 Groups, devices, and external guest users.
- Practical knowledge of Azure AD identity and authentication technologies: Azure AD Connect, password hash synchronization, pass-through authentication, seamless single sign-on (SSO), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Azure multi-factor authentication (MFA), and self-service password reset (SSPR).
