About the Role
Join Westpac Group as a Senior Manager in the Group Regulatory Affairs team, where you will lead the management of proactive and effective engagement with key regulators to support the delivery of our regulatory strategy. This role is integral in ensuring consistent, cohesive interactions with regulators, fostering open, cooperative relationships built on mutual trust and confidence.
Operating within a high-performing team, you will serve as a trusted partner and facilitator, providing leadership and oversight for strong risk management to safeguard the Group’s ambitions of becoming its customers’ top banking partner throughout life.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage productive relationships with key regulatory bodies such as APRA and ASIC.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders across the Group about regulatory strategy and compliance.
- Lead regulatory interactions that support sound risk management and regulatory adherence throughout the organization.
- Foster collaborative relationships with regulators, ensuring transparency and cooperation.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities to align with regulatory demands.
Qualifications and Skills Needed
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australia’s regulatory landscape, including direct experience in engagement with APRA and/or ASIC.
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders through credibility and sound judgement.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex regulatory topics into clear, actionable messages for diverse audiences.
- Strong judgment and confidence in delivering advisory and constructive challenge on regulatory issues.
- Agility in balancing competing priorities within a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
