Job description
Role Overview
Join Westpac as a Senior Manager in the Group Regulatory Affairs team to lead and manage proactive interactions with key regulators, helping define and execute the Group's regulatory strategy. The team ensures consistent regulatory engagement fostering open, constructive relationships that build mutual trust and confidence between Westpac and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
Work closely with senior leadership across the organization to provide expert regulatory advice and influence the Group's regulatory approach from within. Ensure effective partnership with regulators and oversee risk management practices to protect the Group's reputation and support its ambition to be the leading banking partner for customers throughout their lives.
Key Competencies & Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australia's regulatory framework, with direct experience in engaging with APRA and/or ASIC.
- Demonstrated ability to earn credibility and influence senior leaders, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Strong judgement for delivering advice, challenging constructively, and guiding regulatory matters confidently.
- Capability to rapidly adjust to evolving priorities while maintaining focus in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills aimed at translating complex regulatory concepts into clear, actionable advice for diverse audiences.
