Role Overview

Ascendion, a pioneer in AI-powered software engineering for global clients, is seeking highly experienced Enterprise Data & AI Architects to join their Data & Insights team. These roles are full-time, on-site at client offices in Gurgaon and Pune, and involve close partnership with key customers to enhance technical execution and business growth. The position blends strategic guiding with hands-on development, emphasizing architectural excellence and rapid prototype creation to fuel presales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and refine architectural and codebases through intensive reviews to uncover deficits, technical debts, and detrimental patterns.
• Conduct in-depth performance tuning focusing on poorly performing SQL queries, inefficient data flows, and outdated data structures.
• Define and implement rigorous coding standards, best practices, and continuous integration/delivery processes across engineering teams.
• Serve as a hands-on troubleshooter to swiftly overcome complex architectural challenges.
• Promote use and integration of Agentic AI tools and development aids available within hyperscalers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
• Educate and guide teams on leveraging AI for automating code creation, enhancing SQL performance, and accelerating delivery timelines.
• Collaborate closely with client stakeholders in presales to comprehend end-user issues, particularly in Life Sciences and Pharma sectors.
• Design, develop, and implement agile, fast-paced proof of concepts centered on data modernization, analytics advancement, and generative AI solutions.
• Translate elaborate technical solutions into persuasive value propositions facilitating new business acquisitions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years overall IT experience with at least 4 years in hands-on Data Architect or Enterprise Architect roles.
• Extensive, practical experience across leading cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform without bias toward any single provider.
• Deep proficiency designing and optimizing modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks including comprehensive knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Lakehouse structures.
• Expert-level competence in SQL including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and scaling warehouse resources.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models, Generative AI, and related Agentic AI workflows; ability to rapidly prototype AI-driven solutions involving techniques like RAG architectures and prompt engineering.
• Strong programming capabilities with hands-on experience in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to provide advisory support to senior partners and navigate ambiguous, fast-moving presales environments.
