Job description
Overview
Glantech Staffing is looking to fill the position of Senior Maintenance Electrician/Supervisor for a permanent role in County Kildare with a leading food manufacturing company. The role involves leading and supporting the maintenance team while ensuring adherence to company policies, creating an efficient and coordinated workplace.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to maintenance technicians, responding to breakdowns as needed.
- Assist Supervisors and Managers in monitoring machine reliability and identifying improvement projects.
- Coordinate with production teams to implement line improvement initiatives and support commissioning of new machinery.
- Conduct training sessions for technicians and operators and evaluate and adjust preventive maintenance programs.
- Offer on-call support and cover shifts during holidays or sickness.
- Plan and execute machinery and fabric repairs ahead of visits and audits.
- Participate in PM scheduling and spare parts management projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety programs and assist in risk assessments and safety upgrades.
- Support shutdown planning, machine overhauls, and lean process improvements.
- Develop best practice documentation and training materials for equipment operation and maintenance.
- Assist with CMMS development and general ad hoc duties as required.
Key Skills and Experience
- Electrical or Mechanical trade/engineering qualification with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in process manufacturing environments such as food or beverage.
- Well-versed in preventive maintenance systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Familiarity with GMP, EHS, lean principles, and reliability processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
