About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Human Resources Advisor to join a dynamic HR team in Wellington. This role involves acting as a key partner across the organization by providing expert advice and coaching on comprehensive people-related matters, tackling complex employment relations issues, and driving enhancements in HR systems, payroll, processes, and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-level HR and employment relations guidance throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Support organizational initiatives including remuneration reviews and employee engagement activities.
- Develop and refine HR policies, procedures, and frameworks to meet evolving business needs.
- Assist in the design and rollout of learning and development programs that enhance capability, foster career development, and improve organizational performance.
- Generate HR insights and conduct data analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Mentor HR team members and contribute to fostering a collaborative, high-performing people function.
- Ensure adherence to legislative requirements and maintain data accuracy.
- Participate in recruitment efforts and talent management initiatives when necessary.
- Build and nurture trusted relationships across the organization to promote positive people outcomes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Significant generalist HR experience with a track record of partnering with leadership.
- Solid understanding of New Zealand employment laws alongside HR best practices.
- Experience in facilitating organizational change and managing performance, workplace investigations, and disciplinary actions.
- Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Competence in developing HR policies and executing people-centric initiatives.
- Proficiency in contributing to learning and development activities, identifying capability gaps, supporting development plans, and encouraging continuous learning.
- Strong analytical skills and the capability to translate HR data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS), payroll software, and Microsoft Office suite.

- Desire and ability to correctly pronounce Te Reo Māori.
- Understanding and daily practice of Tikanga Māori.
