Job description
Position Overview
The Unity Engine empowers millions of creators worldwide to craft dynamic real-time experiences, supported by a versatile RT3D platform that spans from content creation to final device display. Within the graphics division, our goal is to deliver cutting-edge graphics capabilities across all present and future platforms Unity supports. We strive to enable developers to write rendering code without needing prior knowledge of the ultimate API it will operate on.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and sustain a robust, efficient shader management system.
- Enhance and maintain existing systems, focusing on improving stability, performance, and testability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new engine features across multiple platforms.
- Ensure Unity’s shaders function seamlessly across various platforms, rendering pipelines, and performance tiers.
- Create automated testing frameworks for new features and fixing defects.
Qualifications
- Strong programming expertise in C++ alongside modern shader languages.
- Solid understanding of real-time 3D graphics and contemporary graphics APIs.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with developers, clients, and leadership through verbal interactions and documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with contemporary engine systems, rendering architectures, and experience with large-scale or multi-platform engine projects.
- Knowledge of modern shader compilers like DXC and Slang, including intermediate languages such as DXIL, SPIR-V, and MSL.
- Acquaintance with Unity engine, C# programming, and production shader development.
- Experience with asset management, import processes, and build pipelines.
Compensation
The salary range varies by geographical zone:
- Zone A: £59,600 - £89,400 GBP gross
- Zone B: £68,200 - £102,200 GBP gross
- Zone A: kr684,200 - kr1,026,200 DKK gross
- Zone A: CA$125,300 - CA$175,300 CAD gross
- Zone B: CA$135,400 - CA$203,000 CAD gross
Besides the base salary, this role may offer equity awards and participation in company incentive programs such as discretionary bonuses. Final offers will be influenced by location, experience, and skills.
