Opportunity Overview

Unity Engine empowers millions globally to create immersive real-time content through its versatile RT3D framework, offering complete control from content creation to final display across devices.

The graphics division is dedicated to delivering groundbreaking graphics functionalities across all Unity-supported platforms both current and upcoming. The goal is to let developers write rendering code without knowing the target API in advance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Create and uphold a robust, efficient shader management system.
  • Enhance existing systems by boosting performance, reliability, and testability.
  • Collaborate across diverse teams to integrate new engine features platform-wide.
  • Ensure compatibility of Unity shaders with multiple platforms, rendering pipelines, and performance tiers.
  • Develop automated testing infrastructure for features and fixes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven competence in C++ programming and contemporary shader languages.
  • Familiarity with real-time 3D graphics concepts and modern graphics APIs.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with developers, clients, and leadership through spoken and written channels.

Additional Asset Skills

  • Knowledge of current rendering architectures and experience working on extensive multi-platform engines or live productions.
  • Understanding of modern shader compilation tools like DXC and Slang, including shader intermediate languages such as DXIL, SPIR-V, and MSL.
  • Experience with the Unity engine, C# coding, and authoring production-level shaders.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems, import processes, and build pipelines.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary depends on work location zone:

  • Zone A: £59,600 - £89,400 GBP
  • Zone B: £68,200 - £102,200 GBP
  • Zone A: DKK 684,200 - DKK 1,026,200
  • Zone A: CA$125,300 - CA$175,300
  • Zone B: CA$135,400 - CA$203,000

Besides salary, candidates may qualify for equity awards and company incentive plans such as discretionary bonuses or commission. Final offers consider location, experience, background, and skills.
