Job Role and Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the MES COE Lead and interdisciplinary teams to design and deploy MES solutions that are in line with enterprise strategies and standards.
• Direct the technical architecture, configuration, integration, and validation testing of MES systems spanning various manufacturing methods and multiple sites.
• Create and upkeep MES best practice guidelines, operational playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Lead Communities of Practice sessions to unify and simplify MES templates and processes by leveraging advanced system capabilities.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to MES engineering staff and associated collaborators.
• Drive adoption of new MES technologies and support digital transformation efforts across manufacturing locations.
• Analyze manufacturing workflows and data to pinpoint opportunities for automation, process optimization, and harmonization through MES.
• Adhere strictly to cGMP, regulatory requirements, and AbbVie's operational protocols throughout MES engineering activities.
• Contribute to governance frameworks, develop technical documentation, and assist in training programs related to MES implementations.
• Champion Global Recipe Templates within initiatives for New Instance MES program rollout.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners including technology, automation, operations, and IT to foster ongoing MES improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, IT, Science, or a related area.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working with MES systems specifically in pharmaceutical manufacturing, automation, or regulated sectors.
• Comprehensive understanding of digital manufacturing, MES technologies, and IT/OT integration within enterprise settings.
• Proven skills in process enhancement, system analysis, and technical documentation across global or multi-site environments.
• Excellent teamwork and communication capabilities bridging business and technical teams.
• Knowledgeable of cGMP principles, pharmaceutical regulatory standards, and quality compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with MES platforms, preferably POMS Aquila.
• Experience in mentoring junior employees and promoting knowledge sharing throughout the network.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and organizational skills.
