Senior Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

We are searching for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to play a pivotal role in crafting and maintaining the front-end interfaces for Xero's digital gateway, focusing on the main website and associated signup experiences. Your contributions will directly enhance customer acquisition metrics while ensuring the platform remains high-performing and reliable under substantial user traffic.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize reusable UI components within cutting-edge web technologies such as React, TypeScript, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Improve website performance metrics, including Core Web Vitals and accessibility standards, particularly within crucial conversion paths.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including product managers, designers, and SEO experts to implement rapid A/B testing and optimize conversion funnels.
• Integrate backend services, forms, and content management systems by working closely with platform and customer technology groups.

The Acquisition team is a multifaceted unit comprising engineers, product professionals, designers, and growth specialists distributed across Australia and North America. Work Location and Flexibility

This position is ideally suited for someone located in Melbourne but is open to candidates in Brisbane or Sydney. While there is no strict office attendance policy, team members often engage in weekly in-person collaboration sessions at company offices. Qualifications and Attributes

• Proven experience in building scalable user interface systems with React, TypeScript, and server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js.
• Solid full-stack development skills, including experience with Node.js and exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Strong background in testing methodologies, component documentation tools like Storybook, and web performance tuning.
• Excellent ownership mindset and communication skills to facilitate effective partnerships across engineering, design, product, and growth teams.
