Role Summary

• Position: Senior Frontend Engineer
• Location: Sydney, Australia
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Experience Required: 8 to 12 years

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack features using Next.js and Node.js within consumer and corporate banking platforms.
• Create and maintain GraphQL APIs including schema design, resolvers, subscriptions, and managing federated services.
• Work closely with product management, UI/UX design, and backend teams to deliver complete features from specification through to production deployment.
• Lead and participate in technical discussions, conduct rigorous code reviews, and provide mentorship to junior developers.
• Ensure all applications comply with stringent banking security standards (PCI-DSS, APRA) and meet performance benchmarks.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, testing coverage, and observability to ensure high reliability and maintainability.
• Engage in on-call rotations and respond promptly to production incidents.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience focusing on frontend technologies.
• Proven expertise with Next.js, including server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), App Router, middleware, and API route handling.
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL including schema construction, Apollo Server/Client, DataLoader, and federation.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and proficiency in testing frameworks such as Jest and Playwright or Cypress.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and deployment on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Comprehensive understanding of web security practices including OAuth 2.0, JWT, HTTPS protocols, and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
