Role Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst position at Control Risks in Dubai provides crucial financial and payroll assistance to the High Risk Managed Services (HRMS) division. This role encompasses end-to-end financial accounting, comprehensive reporting, payroll verification, and strategic support to various teams within HRMS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial results, highlighting significant deviations from budgets, forecasts, and previous periods, providing insightful commentary.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies effectively.
  • Guarantee the accuracy and completeness of income records for the HRMS department.
  • Prepare and review journal entries including accruals and necessary adjustments.
  • Monitor project profitability and report realization related to HRMS initiatives.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting by delivering precise financial data and business insights.
  • Ensure adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company-specific accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with tax, commercial finance, and operational departments on accounting and reporting matters.
  • Provide financial advice on matters such as foreign exchange and taxation.
  • Oversee monthly expatriate payroll review ensuring alignment with HR data and accurate booking of amounts.
  • Verify appropriate documentation for employee joiners, leavers, and contract changes.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of DIFC Employment Law and calculations related to Iraq personal taxes.
  • Assist in resolving payroll-related queries and challenges as they arise.
  • Provide occasional financial support to the HRMS Executive Committee and department as needed.
  • Facilitate setup and reporting requirements for new legal entities and business expansions.
  • Contribute to local statutory and group reporting obligations and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, automation possibilities, and financial controls.
  • Support the Financial Controller and Regional Finance Director with various financial tasks.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in management accounting and analytical accounting roles.
  • Practical know-how in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Preferred experience includes financial support within consulting firms, commercial support including pricing, audit exposure, working in global businesses, and statutory accounting.
  • Must have achieved at least a part-qualified status in a recognized accounting qualification.
  • Capability to proactively resolve issues within responsibilities and escalate when necessary.
  • Creative thinker who encourages innovative solutions and adapts analysis to meet client needs.
  • Driven to meet personal and departmental goals exceeding expectations.
  • Sound judgment skills and emphasis on exceptional client service.
