Job description

Overview

This role provides vital financial and payroll assistance to the High Risk Managed Services division. It involves comprehensive financial accounting, reporting, and payroll responsibilities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful financial management for the department.

Financial Accounting and Reporting Duties

  • Facilitate month-end and year-end closing to adhere to reporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial outcomes, highlighting significant variances compared to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Ensure all income for the HRMS department is accurately recorded and complete.
  • Prepare and audit journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments.
  • Report on realization and profitability of HRMS projects.
  • Contribute accurate data and insights to budgeting and forecasting efforts.
  • Maintain compliance with IFRS standards and company accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with tax, commercial finance, and operations teams on financial and reporting issues.
  • Provide advice on financial matters including foreign exchange (FX) and taxation.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Review monthly expatriate payroll, validating consistency with HR data and correct calculation and booking.
  • Ensure documentation for new hires, departures, and contract changes is properly maintained.
  • Possess a solid understanding of DIFC Employment Law and Iraqi personal tax computations.
  • Support resolution of payroll inquiries and challenges.

General Responsibilities

  • Deliver ad hoc financial support to the HRMS department and its Executive Committee when required.
  • Assist with requirements for new legal entity setups and business expansions.
  • Support local statutory and group reporting obligations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as needed.
  • Identify and implement improvements in reporting processes, automation, and financial controls.
  • Support the Financial Controller and Regional Finance Director in their duties.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven management accounting experience.
  • Background in analytical accounting roles.
  • Skilled in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Part-qualified status in a recognized accounting certification is essential.
  • Preferred experience includes financial support in consulting, commercial support including pricing, audit exposure, global business environments, and statutory accounting.
