Job description
About The Flex
The Flex is revolutionizing flexible accommodation by managing properties across various cities and countries. By blending hospitality, technology, and operational excellence, The Flex aims to make renting homes as effortless as booking hotels. As the company scales globally, it seeks a highly skilled Senior Finance Analyst to develop the foundational financial infrastructure for this rapidly expanding enterprise.
Role Overview
This Senior Finance Analyst position centers on the core of The Flex’s financial operations. The primary objective is to gain comprehensive insight into all financial inflows and outflows, assess the performance across different business segments, and identify areas to enhance profitability. The role encompasses accounting, financial analysis, reporting, payments, budgeting, and evaluating overall business performance.
This position reports directly to the founders and senior leadership, interacting closely with multiple teams, including operations, revenue management, and property management. There is significant potential for career growth toward leadership roles such as Finance Manager, Head of Finance, or CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership and continuously enhance daily financial reporting and internal controls, ensuring accuracy and thorough validation of all figures reported to management.
- Pinpoint manual and repetitive finance tasks; design streamlined processes and collaborate with engineering teams to create automation solutions.
- Reconcile payments received from multiple booking platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, and direct channels to verify accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct bank account reconciliations and verify incoming payments, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable diligently.
- Audit supplier invoices and oversee company expense management.
- Ensure timely and accurate statutory filings and maintain corporate compliance across several jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and banks to maintain precise accounting records and regulatory compliance.
- Provide financial statements support to landlords and property owners as needed.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting systems that deliver real-time insights on company performance.
- Perform detailed financial analyses segmented by property, location, and business units.
- Construct and update budgets, forecasts, and robust financial models.
- Monitor cash flow to assist management in planning future capital needs.
- Identify financial risks and detect potential revenue leakages.
- Analyze costs to uncover margin improvement opportunities.
- Work with operations to optimize and reduce costs at the property level.
- Contribute to financial due diligence processes for acquisitions, investments, and market expansions.
- Present detailed financial insights and strategic recommendations directly to founders and executive leadership.
Candidate Profile
- Strong analytical skills with a passion for working with numerical data.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to accuracy.
- Deep understanding of accounting standards and financial principles.
- Capability to handle large datasets covering financial and operational information.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel or Google Sheets functionalities.
- Expertise in reconciliation, financial control measures, and creative problem-solving.
- A commercial mindset that involves interpreting numbers in the context of business impact, not just reporting them.
- Ownership-driven attitude with high accountability.
- Self-starter comfortable with autonomy and proactive problem resolution.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, suited to engaging with senior management.
- Strong enthusiasm for technology, process automation, and AI with a focus on improving finance operations.
- Ambition to assume greater financial leadership responsibilities as the company expands.
- Background in accounting, audit, investment banking, private equity, FP&A, consulting, hospitality, real estate, or high-growth startups is highly desirable.
- Preferred educational background includes degrees in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or related analytical disciplines. Exceptional candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
What Success Looks Like in 6–12 Months
- Develop an in-depth understanding of financial performance across all segments of The Flex.
- Deliver consistent, dependable monthly management reports.

- Enhance real-time visibility into cash flow, profitability, and unit economics.
- Identify actionable strategies to lower costs and boost profit margins.
- Automate multiple previously manual finance procedures.
