Role Overview
The Senior / Facilities Technician plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day engineering functions to ensure optimal hotel operations. This includes managing and maintaining essential equipment and systems crucial to guest comfort and facility safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment that controls ambient room temperature throughout hotel areas.
- Manage systems supplying clean and hot water to various hotel services.
- Maintain and operate television and satellite equipment to ensure clear visuals in guest rooms.
- Provide audio-visual setup and support for hotel events as required.
- Assist with emergency operations promptly and efficiently during crises.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment or facility failures promptly.
- Replace defective components, including lighting bulbs, as necessary.
- Address and resolve technical issues reported by hotel guests in a timely manner.
- Record daily utility meter readings and verify proper operation of plant and equipment.
- Conduct regular patrols of hotel premises to identify fire and safety risks.
- Ensure exterior lighting functions correctly according to scheduled timings.
- Operate plant and facility services essential to hotel functions consistently and effectively.
- Perform preventive maintenance to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
- Repair damaged furniture promptly, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Paint and maintain building surfaces to preserve aesthetics and integrity.
- Manage operations of elevators, dumbwaiters, swimming pools, water fountains, fire protection systems, drainage, sanitary systems, public music, lighting, and dimming controls.
- Embody and promote company values including guest passion, sustainable performance, innovation, trust, and respect.
- Engage actively in corporate social responsibility programs, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and other sustainability efforts.
- Perform any additional tasks relevant to job function as assigned.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Possession of Nitec Certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, Air Conditioning Servicing, and/or Plumbing.
- At least one year of relevant work experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles applicable to facilities maintenance.
- Strong planning abilities and strategic foresight.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting at all organizational levels.
- Professional approach oriented toward quality service.
- Effective team contributor adaptable to change.
- High sense of urgency and well-developed prioritization skills.
