Role Overview

The Assistant Manager for In-Room Dining is responsible for managing daily operations of the in-room dining services, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the ordering, delivery, and service process, while maintaining excellent communication between staff and kitchen teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a warm, service-oriented attitude in all interactions with guests and staff.
• Adhere consistently to Fairmont's safety standards and operational policies to ensure smooth hotel functioning.
• Serve as the communication bridge among servers, guests, and kitchen personnel.
• Manage daily operational tasks including shift management across all daily periods and uphold cleaning duties within corporate Standard Operating Procedures.
• Control guest seating arrangements and oversee the proper distribution process.
• Ensure adequate shift staffing and prepare table dressing for the dining area.
• Supervise and guarantee high-quality tabletop presentation during meal services.
• Maintain active floor presence during shifts, welcoming and engaging with guests effectively.
• Develop shift schedules based on hotel occupancy and special events.
• Address and resolve constructive feedback from guests professionally.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of menus served.
• Provide assistance in other Food & Beverage outlets as required.
• Keep inventory records of equipment, linens, and supplies up to date.
• Monitor and manage Point of Sale (POS) system operations related to guest billing and hotel financial reports.
• Assume Restaurant Manager responsibilities in their absence.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

• Proven excellence in customer service skills.
• Experience in Assistant Food & Beverage Manager or supervisory roles, preferably within 5-star or diamond-rated hotel environments.
• Strong communication proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Competence with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Excel.
• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative capabilities, coupled with great attention to detail.
• Understanding of food and beverage processes, preparation methods, health regulations, and liquor laws.
