About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Queensland team to help secure and manage major civil infrastructure projects. This role includes leading the estimation process from initial opportunity evaluation through to tender submission by producing precise, competitive, and commercially viable bids for a broad range of civil infrastructure projects.
Collaborating closely with operational, engineering, and commercial teams, you will prepare detailed first-principles cost estimates, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, identify project risks and opportunities, and assist in developing tender strategies. This position offers the chance to contribute significantly to the Queensland business's expansion while working on challenging and rewarding infrastructure projects.
What You Will Bring
- Extensive experience estimating civil infrastructure, especially in roads, earthworks, drainage, and structural elements.
- Demonstrated skill in first-principles estimating to create accurate and defensible cost assessments.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and practical considerations for project delivery.
- Proven ability to manage tender processes from the opportunity stage through to final submission.
- Effective engagement with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to formulate competitive pricing approaches.
- Competence in risk evaluation, value engineering, and shaping tender strategy.
- Commercial insight to identify project risks, opportunities, and critical success factors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management capabilities.
- A cooperative working style and ability to function well within multidisciplinary teams.
