Job Overview

A leading wood manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia is actively looking for a skilled Joinery Estimator to become part of their team based in Dammam. The ideal candidate will possess thorough experience in devising precise cost estimates for a variety of wooden products including furniture, doors, kitchens, wardrobes, and fire-rated doors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze tender documentation, architectural plans, specifications, quantity bills, and detailed client requirements.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and generate comprehensive cost estimates for all joinery products.
  • Calculate costs involving materials, hardware, accessories, finishes, labor, machinery operation time, wastage, subcontracting, transportation, and installation.
  • Estimate costs for items such as furniture, wooden doors, kitchens, wardrobes, architectural joinery, and fire-rated wooden doors.
  • Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Compile detailed cost sheets, formal commercial quotes, clarifications, exclusions, and pricing summaries for client presentations.
  • Work closely with design, production, procurement, sales, project, and installation departments to ensure alignment.
  • Identify and manage technical, commercial, and production risks prior to quotation submission.
  • Verify all fire-rated door cost estimations align with project specifications, approved systems, the necessary fire ratings, and certified hardware requirements.
  • Propose value engineering solutions that retain quality and technical standards.
  • Keep updated records of material pricing, labor rates, production expenses, and supplier data.
  • Assist sales during quotation updates and negotiations.
  • Complete the transfer of awarded project costing information to production and project management teams.

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ practical experience in joinery or wood product cost estimation.
  • Comprehensive experience estimating costs across furniture, wooden doors, kitchens, wardrobes, and fire-rated doors.
  • Proficiency in independently compiling full cost estimates, quantity calculations, cost sheets, and commercial quotations.
  • In-depth understanding of wood materials, hardware, finishing techniques, labor and manufacturing processes, wastage considerations, and installation costing.
  • Experienced in reviewing architectural drawings and technical specifications as well as bills of quantities.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and numerical estimation methods.
  • Resident in or willing to relocate to Dammam.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related disciplines.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, ERP software, or specialized estimation tools.
  • Awareness of value engineering principles and experience in commercial tendering.
  • Good proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
