Joinery Draftsman & Cutting List Technician

Overview

A prominent wood manufacturing factory in Saudi Arabia is looking for a skilled Joinery Draftsman & Cutting List Technician to join their team in Dammam. The role involves producing precise, production-ready drawings and cutting lists for a variety of wood-based products, including furniture and fire-rated doors.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop and production drawings derived from approved designs, specifications, and onsite measurements.
• Generate precise cutting lists, bills of materials, and hardware schedules for manufacturing purposes.
• Design drawings for furniture, wooden doors, kitchens, wardrobes, architectural joinery, and fire-rated wooden doors.
• Detail all dimensions, sections, materials, finishes, edge banding, hardware, and joinery elements clearly.
• Collaborate closely with teams from production, CNC operations, procurement, estimation, projects, and installation.
• Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and cutting lists prior to release for production.
• Work to reduce material waste by preparing optimised quantity and cutting information.
• Update drawings promptly in response to approved revisions and changes observed onsite.
• Ensure compliance of fire-rated door drawings with specifications, tested systems, and mandatory hardware.
• Address and resolve technical and production issues related to drawings efficiently.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• At least 5 years of practical experience in joinery or wood manufacturing drafting roles.
• Demonstrated expertise preparing production drawings and cutting lists for furniture, wooden doors, kitchens, wardrobes, and fire-rated wooden doors.
• Proficient with AutoCAD at an advanced level.
• Capable of independently translating designs, specifications, and site data into production-ready documents.
• Strong knowledge of materials such as MDF, plywood, solid wood, veneer, laminates, finishes, accessories, and relevant joinery hardware.
• Good understanding of wood manufacturing and assembly methods.
• Experience in coordinating directly with factory production teams.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, Production Technology, or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, Cabinet Vision, SketchUp, or similar programs.
• Knowledge of CNC production processes.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
