About the Role
WSP Middle East is seeking an accomplished Senior Architect to join the Technical Architecture Team within the Property & Buildings Business Unit, located in the UAE. This vital position offers the chance to lead the technical aspects of intricate and prestigious projects across the Middle East, spanning commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, residential, healthcare, education, aviation, and public sector developments. The role demands strong leadership in technical design, multidisciplinary coordination, construction documentation, and ensuring design compliance throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery process of architectural projects from initial concept through to construction completion.
- Create, review, and coordinate comprehensive design packages, including technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Ensure all designs adhere to local authority regulations, international standards, and specific project mandates.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams such as structural engineers, MEP consultants, landscape architects, interior designers, and other specialists.
- Facilitate the implementation of BIM and coordinate technical design elements across various projects.
- Assess shop drawings, material submissions, requests for information (RFIs), and address technical queries during construction.
- Promote technical excellence, uphold quality assurance practices, and maintain consistency in design deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior architectural staff and technical team members.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience focusing on technical design and successful project delivery.
- Experience working within leading architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary consultancy firms.
- Proficient in Revit, BIM workflows, AutoCAD, and preparation of construction documentation.
- Strong skills in coordination, communication, and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Prior exposure to projects in the Middle East is strongly preferred.
