Job description
Primary Purpose
This position involves delivering expert environmental engineering support for offshore projects in both new developments and existing facilities. The role spans all project stages, including detailed engineering, fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to environmental laws, project guidelines, and industry norms.
The incumbent will provide technical direction and ensure environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle, facilitating the timely, safe, and cost-effective completion of offshore infrastructure within established performance targets.
Responsibilities and Experience
- Possess at least 12 years of environmental engineering expertise within the Oil & Gas sector, ideally with exposure to offshore greenfield and brownfield operations.
- Have extensive knowledge of environmental legislation, health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards, and best practices relevant to offshore developments.
- Conduct and assess environmental and risk analyses such as Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Impact Notifications (ENVID), Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA).
- Develop and review environmental management strategies, procedural documents, and compliance records.
- Understand environmental risks and effects throughout the project lifecycle, encompassing construction, operational phases, decommissioning, and abandonment processes.
- Exhibit strong abilities in stakeholder engagement, communication, and delivering presentations.
Educational Credentials
- Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field from an accredited university.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or related disciplines are preferable.
- Affiliation or certification with established engineering, environmental, or HSE professional organizations is advantageous.
