About the Role
As a Chief Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences by ensuring the effective upkeep and safe operation of the physical property and its systems. Beyond managing facilities, you will contribute warmth and excellence that enhance every guest's stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, recruit, and cultivate a skilled maintenance team through training, mentorship, performance assessment, and recognition initiatives to foster high performance and motivation.
- Maintain safety and regulatory adherence by managing the upkeep of building infrastructure including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems, and coordinating necessary inspections.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations by prioritizing tasks, supervising completion through the property maintenance system, and addressing service requests, guest issues, and emergencies promptly.
- Support and manage capital improvement projects, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor engagement, licensing and compliance with regulations.
- Implement and monitor energy conservation programs to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs throughout the property.
- Track engineering department performance using key indicators such as equipment condition, audit outcomes, and team productivity to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with broader hotel leadership to assist in evacuation planning, duty management, and enforce safety procedures as necessary.
