Senior Engineer - Business Architecture

Role Overview

Lead the creation and upkeep of business architecture artifacts that link corporate strategy, capabilities, value streams, services, processes, and organizational roles. This position supports data-driven investment decisions, prioritizes transformation efforts, and ensures enterprise-wide synchronization within the Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and update business capability maps, value streams, business service catalogs, and business architecture perspectives.
• Evaluate strategic goals, stakeholder requirements, and operating model adjustments; convert these into business architecture needs and strategic roadmaps.
• Maintain traceability connecting strategy, capabilities, services, processes, applications, and initiatives within the EA repository.
• Collaborate with business owners and analysts to verify current and future state models, identify gaps, dependencies, and prioritize actions.
• Support enterprise transformation and portfolio decisions by providing clear architectural analysis and guidance.
• Enforce EA governance, modeling standards, and quality assurance; contribute to Architecture Review Board documentation as necessary.
• Conduct workshops and effectively communicate architectural insights to business and technology stakeholders.
• Enhance EA content frameworks, reference models, principles, KPIs, and participate in continuous improvement.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Solid practical experience with TOGAF and concepts of business architecture, including capability-based planning and value stream modeling.
• Competency in modeling and analyzing capabilities, services, processes, information flow, stakeholders, and organizational interactions.
• Familiarity with ArchiMate and BPMN standards; prior use of EA or process modeling tools preferred.
• Excellent facilitation, analytical writing, stakeholder management, and presentation abilities.
• Capability to distill complex business data into clear, decision-focused architectural views.
• Proven experience creating Business Architecture Diagrams using EA tools such as Orbus Infinity, Bizzdesign, or SAP.

• Traceability linking capabilities to processes, services, and applications.
• Gap analyses, roadmaps, and impact assessments related to business architecture.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture, business transformation, operating-model design, or closely related domains.
• TOGAF certification is mandatory or highly preferred; certifications from Business Architecture Guild (CBA), ArchiMate, BPMN, CBAP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent credentials add value.

Preferred Domain Knowledge

Experience within government, taxation, financial services, or large complex organizations is desirable.
