Senior Engineer - Building Management Systems (BMS)

Overview

Join WSP as a Senior Engineer specializing in Building Technology Systems (BMS) based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves contributing technical expertise to the design and delivery of advanced building automation and control systems, integrating smart building technologies across diverse projects including commercial, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, residential, and mixed developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive Building Management System solutions tailored for various types of building projects.
• Create detailed design calculations, control schematics, system architecture diagrams, points schedules, sequences of operation, technical specifications, and formal design reports.
• Collaborate and coordinate BMS designs effectively with mechanical, electrical, ELV, ICT, security, lighting control, and energy management disciplines.
• Assist in producing and reviewing drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation ensuring alignment with project demands.
• Evaluate contractor submissions including shop drawings, materials, and proposals for design conformity.
• Engage actively in multidisciplinary meetings to resolve design and integration issues.
• Contribute technical expertise throughout the stages of design development, tendering, construction, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Respond promptly to Requests for Information and manage design alterations during execution.
• Conduct site inspections to verify installation accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Support commissioning and integrated systems testing to ensure operational readiness.
• Promote initiatives related to smart building technologies, sustainability, energy efficiency, and digital building solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, authority mandates, and cybersecurity protocols pertinent to connected building technologies.
• Maintain thorough project records, including technical reports and progress documentation.
• Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project results.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Controls, Mechatronics, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• 8 to 12 years of professional experience in Building Management Systems, Automation, or Smart Building engineering.
• Proven capability in managing BMS designs for complex, large-scale building projects.
• Expertise in HVAC control systems and integrated building technologies.
• Hands-on experience with leading BMS platforms such as Siemens Desigo, Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell EBI, Johnson Controls Metasys, or Delta Controls.
• Knowledge of UAE, Saudi Arabian, and international building codes and standards.
• Experience supporting system testing, commissioning, and handover procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Professional certifications related to BMS, automation controls, or smart building technologies are considered beneficial.
