Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and meticulous Senior Electrical Estimator to produce precise and timely cost evaluations for electrical projects such as distribution centers, automotive and manufacturing facilities, data centers, and other large-scale industrial projects. This role demands strong electrical trade knowledge, bid depository regulation expertise, and the ability to interpret complex electrical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess electrical drawings and project specifications to generate accurate cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Comprehend and apply bid depository regulations ensuring accurate and compliant bidding.
- Operate Accubid software efficiently to develop and control project costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to collect detailed estimate information.
- Analyze cost discrepancies and variances for management review and action.
- Engage in bid and proposal meetings, present estimates, and address queries from clients and stakeholders.
- Stay informed about current industry trends, standards, and best practices to provide top-tier estimates.
- Support team efforts by completing related tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 10 years of electrical estimating experience within the heavy industrial construction sector, targeting projects like distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and data centers.
- Proven track record estimating projects valued around $50 million.
- Proficiency with Accubid and other standard industry estimating software.
- Deep understanding of electrical trade scope and bid depository rules.
- Ability to interpret complex electrical diagrams and technical documents.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical prowess.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
- Self-driven, attentive to detail, and capable of working independently or collaboratively.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
