About the Role
Archway Recruitment has partnered with CMP New Zealand to find a Senior Electrical Engineer for their expanding Wellington-based national water infrastructure team. CMP Consulting Group is a multidisciplinary engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects across New Zealand and Australia. As part of the ASX-listed Vysarn Group, CMP offers work on prominent water infrastructure projects across both countries.
Opportunity
This exciting role involves joining CMP Consulting's growing, multidisciplinary water infrastructure team. You will contribute significantly to major water and wastewater projects in New Zealand and Australia, collaborating with leading engineers, project managers, and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical, instrumentation, and control (EI&C) design efforts for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, focusing on treatment plants and pump stations.
- Review electrical design outputs, including drawings, specifications, equipment selections, and technical documentation produced internally and externally.
- Prepare and vet detailed project documentation for procurement, construction, and overall project delivery phases.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and development support to junior electrical engineers.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project collaborators.
- Assist project delivery through all stages from initial concept and design through implementation and commissioning.
Candidate Profile
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience designing and delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Previous work within engineering consultancies, contractor design teams, or asset owner environments.
- Proven expertise in electrical systems design for treatment plants, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
- Comprehensive understanding of New Zealand electrical standards and water authority design requirements.
- CPEng and RPEV accreditation, or ability to achieve these certifications within 12 months with CMP's support.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of building effective relationships with project teams and client organizations.
