Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specialized in High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems to join our Infrastructure Team in Sydney. This position leads the delivery of high-quality technical solutions for clients in utilities, renewables, and data centers.

The role requires a hands-on approach to HV/MV electrical engineering, including managing interface connections with utility providers. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will support and guide a small expert team while contributing to major infrastructure project pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Direct and execute HV and MV electrical design and documentation across a variety of projects.
• Work on networks typically ranging from 11kV to 33kV, including substations and private HV reticulation systems.
• Design transformers, ring main units (RMUs), HV switchboards, generators, and distribution systems.
• Develop feasibility studies, business cases, technical reports, system modeling, and related calculations.
• Utilize industry-standard power system software for studies, system modeling, and engineering design tasks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance for critical infrastructure like transportation projects and mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven background in HV and MV electrical design.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian Standard AS 2067.
• Experience with earth grid design methodologies.
• Proficiency in power system software such as SKM Power Tools and ETAP.
• Capability to engage in all stages of projects from conceptual design to detailed delivery.
• Experience working on complex infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working alongside engineers, clients, and consultants.
